From idea to success—Upscore turns 10!

Upscore is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Compared to the long histories of most of our clients, that may not seem like much—but for a technology company in our field, it is quite a while.

To be honest, we didn’t initially think in such timeframes. In the early days, whether brainstorming over evening games of table football or later at project kick-off sessions, the only thing that was clear was our goal: to make digital publishing more independent and more successful through new technology. And then time just flew by.

Because we believe in strong journalism and the value of quality content: That was our driving force, as well as the conviction that content creators and editorial teams would need the best possible tools to thrive in the global digital marketplace. It was clear to us that this would involve real-time data, insights, usability and data protection, as well as monetisation and much more.

Today, Upscore is a comprehensive publishing intelligence platform with incredible depth and features—used by thousands of journalists, audience specialists, product managers, and subscription specialists.

We have always adhered to two core principles: Almost all our team members come from a digital publishing background—they have real, hands-on experience working just like our clients do. Secondly, our platform is truly “Made & Operated” in Europe, right down to data hosting on our own servers in a German data centre. Independence and sovereignty are values we have lived both technically and organisationally—long before these became industry buzzwords.

There is currently a great deal of discussion around strengthening local journalism.

We have supported this since the very beginning, as strong media and quality journalism are fundamental to the functioning of our society and democracy.

We want to continue being a strong partner in the future and keep driving our platform forward.

Looking back over the past 10 years, I would like to sincerely thank our customers, partners, and advisers. Their loyalty and invaluable input have played a key role in making Upscore what it is today: the platform that helps digital publishers tackle both today’s challenges and those yet to come.

We look forward to everything that lies ahead!
